The NBA is currently unveiling its top 100 dunks of the season list, so what better time is there to celebrate Portland’s resident slamming showman, Shaedon Sharpe?
Sharpe is a true human highlight reel. His fast breaks are must-see TV. Bleacher Report recently ranked him as the 43rd best dunker of all time (too low, by the way), but what about currently?
Here’s a list of the NBA’s five most exciting dunkers right now, with the Trail Blazers’ swingman rightfully included:
5. Aaron Gordon
This is a legacy inclusion to some degree, but even modern day Aaron Gordon can rock the rim with the best of them. He’s a dunk contest legend for a reason.
His slams are special because he has an unmatched combination of verticality and strength, allowing him to punch the ball through the net with vigor that can leave an arena shaking. Any one of his poster victims is sure to wake up with a bruise the next day.
4. Victor Wembanyama
Sometimes it’s hard not to believe Wembanyama is a real life NBA2K character, or even a genuine alien. Because he’s 7’4”, he has the capability to pull off some dunks that most guys physically can’t accomplish. He can reach the basket (or the ball, if we’re talking alley oops) from what feels like yards away.
But what really makes Wemby’s throwdowns wild is the fact that he puts Globetrotter flair in them whenever he gets the chance. The things he can do at his size are just astonishing.
3. Shaedon Sharpe
Here’s our guy! Sharpe is a skywalker. He disproves the “fact” that humans can’t fly. Anytime he begins to take off, you can feel yourself scooting closer to the edge of your seat, anticipating the soaring spectaculars that are about to ensue.
Sharpe could go dunk-reel-for-dunk-reel with anybody and stand his ground. He’s an acrobatic ace.
2. Amen Thompson
If there’s one man who can match Sharpe’s aerial gifts, it’s Amen Thompson, the NBA’s resident video game athlete. Not only is Thompson good for a SportsCenter Top 10 type of jam every game, he’s also just flat-out one of basketball’s highest volume dunkers.
He ranked second in the entire NBA in total dunks in 2025-26, a list usually dominated by centers. That deserves some respect.
1. Anthony Edwards
Anthony Edwards’ starpower is undeniable and infectious, and a good bit of it is fueled by his dunking escapades. When Ant gets eyes on the hoop, he always goes for the kill, and it’s resulted in some of the most iconic posters of the 2020s (shoutout Yuta Watanabe and John Collins). When you turn on a Wolves game, you always know Edwards is going to put on a show. He has to be number one here.
Plenty of other names could belong on this list, including new Blazer Ja Morant. But, no matter how you shake it, Shaedon Sharpe is one of the best in the world when it comes to throwing it down.
