Get pieces that fit with your main guy

The biggest lesson for the Blazers from ‘ The Last Dance ‘ documentary should be the way that Pippen and Jordan fit together as potentially the best duo in NBA history.

The Blazers will probably never have the championship success of the Bulls, but they can potentially replicate some of their success by pairing Lillard with players that fit better with him.

We love CJ McCollum, and he is a great shooting guard, but we all know that he isn’t the perfect fit next to Lillard.

The ‘ trade CJ ‘ ideas are always unpopular, but then a lot of fans give CJ grief when his combination with Lillard doesn’t work. If fans want a championship, then they have to be prepared to do whatever it takes to get there.

The key to Jordan and Pippen’s success was how they fitted so seamlessly together.

A guard who was ball dominant and could score in different ways at the rim and further out.

An athletic wing who can play off the ball but could set his teammates up while also being able to shoot and get to the line.

If the Blazers truly want to contend, then maybe the time comes where they look for someone who fits better next to Dame. This doesn’t necessarily mean that McCollum gets traded, but Olshey should be prepared to move anyone to get this team to the next level.

Building around your main guy in Lillard should be priority number one. This is exactly how the Bulls had the success they did.
