2019 NBA Mock Draft 4.0
By Jakob Ashlin
With March Madness well underway, it is a good time for an updated 2019 NBA Mock Draft.
The NBA regular season is winding down to a close. The playoff picture is becoming clear, and many teams have already either clinched a spot or have been eliminated from contention.
Simultaneously, we are in the middle of March Madness. The Sweet 16 games will take place on Thursday, and we have gotten at least a full season of tape on most of the potential prospects.
There have been several significant developments since our last mock draft last month. Our biggest faller is Jontay Porter who tore his ACL for a second time while at practice. We previously projected Porter to be the 14th pick in the draft, but he has now slipped outside of the first round. Coby White out of North Carolina is our biggest riser. He has had his draft stock significantly climb over the past month, and he has risen 18 spots in our mock as a result.
As for the Portland Trail Blazers, the team is not in the greatest spot. They clinched a playoff spot and looked prime to make a run in the playoffs, but center Jusuf Nurkic suffered a devastating injury and is out for the season.
The Blazers, fortunately, still own their own first round pick. That pick is currently the 25th overall selection. We will break down picks 25-30 in depth since they are in Portland’s range. Then I will list the rest of the selections for the first round.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
