Now that we have reached the All Star break, let’s take a look at how the 2019 NBA Draft might shake up for the Portland Trail Blazers and the rest of the NBA.
Now that we have reached the All-Star break, let’s take another look at the upcoming NBA Draft. A few draft picks have changed hands at the NBA trade deadline, and pick protections are becoming more predictable.
Despite chatter that the Portland Trail Blazers would move their first round pick, they ended up holding onto it, and the front office should be able to add a difference maker late in the first round. There are a few college standouts in the back half of the first round who could contribute from day one.
As for the other teams, this draft contains four potential superstars at the top and tanking teams will be targeting a top four draft slot. The Suns, Cavaliers, Bulls, and Knicks are among several teams who should be in contention for the top overall pick. The lottery is not as deep as last year’s class, but there are still some potential stars. A few players have enormous upside but carry considerable risk.
Here are the ground rules for this mock draft:
1. No trades ( I assume Boston will make a move and the Pelicans will receive a first rounder from Boston or another team for Anthony Davis. However, I will just be drafting according to the current order)
2. No second round ( It’s too early to add a second round. I will start including one once players start declaring)
Let’s get started.
