Blazers in 2012 NBA Rookie Survey
In the 2012 NBA Rookie Survey, the following Blazers were featured.
Question: Who will be the 2012-13 Rookie of the Year?
Anthony Davis won this with 47.1 percent of the vote. Damian Lillard was a distant second with 17.6 percent. Then-Blazer Will Barton was in the “others receiving votes” category.
The rooks were wrong about this one. Lillard walked away with the Rookie of the Year trophy.
Question: Which rookie will have the best career?
Lillard finished third in this category with 9.4 percent. (Davis was first.)
Question: Which rookie is the most athletic?
Lillard and fellow rookie Meyers Leonard tied for sixth in this category with 5.9 percent of the vote. Quincy Acy and Perry Jones tied for first with 17.6 percent of the vote.
Question: Which rookie is the best shooter?
John Jenkins got the nod here with 48.6 percent of the vote. Lillard and Terrence Ross tied for fifth with 5.4 percent.
Jenkins played well for Portland in the 2018 NBA Summer League, by the way.
Question: Which rookie is the best playmaker?
Here’s how this one went down:
1. Kendall Marshall (45.7 percent)
2. Damian Lillard (14.3 percent)
Marshall is already out of the league.
Question: Which rookie is the funniest?
Barton finished third in this category with 11.4 percent. Fab Melo took first place with 22.9 percent of the vote.
