Jason Quick on Kevin Pritchard

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

No reports of heavy evaluations going on from the Blazers practice facility today, but The Oregonian’s Jason Quick did come away with this info regarding GM Kevin Pritchard: Miller said he hopes some sort of resolution is reached before the June 24 draft, and he expects to have input on the decision. “A decision at that level ultimately comes from Paul,’’ Miller said. “But from my perspective, we have had a very successful season. And I know that Kevin is under contract to be the GM, and that’s where we are. Kevin and I have worked really good together.’’ Pritchard [...]

What do we do now?

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s a little strange not having a game to look forward to, isn’t it? It’s like the day after the final game of your senior high school sports season. You’ve had practices and games after every day of school for four years, and all the sudden the final bell rings and you find yourself a little unsure of what do to next. Well, there’s plenty of great playoff basketball to watch, and even if you don’t care about the outcome or aren’t the type of person to follow the league through League Pass during the regular season, you can learn [...]

Reason No. 1 to be Proud

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The list goes on for why this is a team that you should not only be proud of, but have respect for. You know about the 300+ missed games due to injuries along with some of the atrocious timing of a few of those maladies. You know they kept fighting and you know they gave you reasons to stand and cheer. You can’t call them heroes when people are risking their lives by doing some very heroic things, they just endured the pain of a shoulder or a knee and found as much success at their choice of work as [...]

Blazers 90, Suns 99 Game 6 Re-Thoughts

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Portland Trail Blazers never gave up. All season long, despite a ridiculous amount of adversity ranking from on-court injuries to front office drama, the Blazers never gave up. And that fact right there is the only thing that’s keep the sting of Game 6′s elimination away. This was a team to be proud of and it is only fitting that they went out in such a prideful way. For all purposes, there were about 4 or 5 times in the 3rd quarter when the Blazers could have packed it in. They did not. They gave it everything they had, [...]

A concise Bill Simmons on Roy

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

From ESPN’s Bill Simmons, do with this what you will: 80. Portland’s brain trust I tweeted it at the time and I’ll write it again: Allowing Brandon Roy to play that soon in the Phoenix series is the kind of short-term, short-sighted decision you make when your front office is in complete disarray. It was Roy’s job to claim he could play, and it was Portland’s job to say, “We can’t take the risk, especially with our injury history over the past 35 years and the way our medical staff has blown some of its decisions these past couple of [...]

Greg Oden taking things slow

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

From The Columbian’s Brian T. Smith, with a flurry of Oden tweets from Blazers practice: Oden said he is not doing any cardio for rehabilitation right now. Muscle work is it. Oden said there is no timeframe for his return, but he does expect to be ready for 2010-11 training camp. Oden said he plans to do most of his rehabilitation in Indiana this summer. Oden said team gave him OK to take a break from rehab, return to Indiana and “clear his head.” There’s been a little, shall we say, questioning of Oden’s comings, goings and doings lately, so [...]

Game 6: Blazers, Suns Pre-Thoughts

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers, NBA Playoffs, Pre-Thoughts | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

In the words of the Moonwalker, this is it. Alright, I’m sure you’re all familiar with the concept of the elimination game, so I won’t inundate you with an end of the season shpeel. Either the Blazers win or we’re all writing “What’s Next” features. That’s the format, and it’s the reason why this should be the most watched, and most heavily scrutinized Blazer game since, well, the Dallas series in 2003. This deep into a series, there aren’t a ton of new adjustments either coach can make. Each guy has a marble bag full of moves and countermoves that [...]

The RCP gets fresh

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

As you’ve noticed, things are looking different here. This slick redesign is going to give us more options to provide you with the best content we can while making it a more fluid reading experience to boot. It’s a win-win along the lines of the Marcus Camby contract extension, if you ask me. Let us know what you think of the new look in the comments section and, as always, thanks for reading and making this site possible.

Brandon Roy ranks 13th in NBA Jersey Sales

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Today, the NBA released its list of the most popular jerseys of the 2009-10 season. Brandon Roy found himself at #13, the first time a Blazer has appeared in the top 15 on this list in…who knows how long. I spent the entire day trying to look it up and could not find the information. The best I know is from InsideHoops.com who showed that Rasheed Wallace was 14th on the NBA list on December 3rd 2003, which I do believe was months before he was traded to the Hawks. I’d imagine Scottie Pippen was up there but I have [...]
