No. 1: Blazers get another foundational player in rebuild

Grant to Warriors

The Warriors are, or at least should be, in win-now mode, given the fact that Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are at the tail ends of their respective Hall of Fame careers. Grant, who shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc last season, would be a seamless integration into head coach Steve Kerr's system, which is predicated on ball and player movement.

Additionally, Robert Williams III would be a high-risk, high-reward acquisition, depending on his health and ability to stay on the court consistently. The Warriors are so far away from making the NBA Finals after missing the playoffs last season that RW3 is the type of risk they have to take to maximize Curry and Green's remaining years.

The Nets get involved in this hypothetical deal as more of a third team to make the salaries work for all of the parties involved. Brooklyn is clearly in rebuilding mode after trading away star wing Mikal Bridges to the Knicks and reacquiring their draft picks from the Rockets.

Established players such as Wiggins and Looney could still potentially make sense in this type of deal. For one, the Nets have such a poor roster that adding these players won't significantly impact their chances of landing the best lottery odds for the 2025 NBA Draft. If desired, they could also flip one or both of Wiggins or Looney for additional younger assets.

Rebuilding teams typically value draft capital over players in these types of trades, but Cronin has proven in prior trades to value both players and picks. In this case, Jonathan Kuminga would be too enticing to pass up. He would even be more valuable than the two first-round picks the Lakers would be offering, given that he is an established asset.

Between Deni Avdija and Kuminga, the Blazers would have their wings of the future. This type of deal seems too good to be true, which is why it hasn't been often discussed much. However, if there is a scenario in which the Blazers can acquire Kuminga, it would instantly become Portland's most intriguing trade package.
