4. Picked up Dalano Banton's team option

After acquiring him from the Boston Celtics, the Blazers picked up Dalano Banton's $2.2 team option for the 2024-25 season. Portland bought low on Banton, trading away only a heavily protected second-round pick. The low-risk flier paid off, as Banton took advantage of his increased opportunity last season while the Blazers had many injuries. Last season, he averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on 41/31/78 shooting splits in 30 games with the Blazers.

Banton is only 24 years old and gives Portland and head coach Chauncey Billups another dimension to their lineups as a 6-foot-8 guard. If he can't improve his three-point shooting, it will be hard for Banton to see significant minutes with a healthy Blazers roster. His low efficiency is also a concern, as his volume should significantly decrease next season.

But at only $2.2 million for next season, the Blazers should give Banton at least an additional year. He showed enough potential last season to justify the decision.
