Blazers draft picks: Updated look at every selection in 2025, 2026 & beyond
By Reese Kunz
With the strategic offseason moves to trade for Deni Avdija and select Donovan Clingan, the Portland Trail Blazers now have six core players 25 years or younger between Avdija, Clingan, Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, Toumani Camara, and Anfernee Simons (although it remains to be seen if Simons should be considered a long-term piece). The Blazers have one of the most underrated young cores in the entire league, with incredibly athletic guards, a versatile do-it-all wing, and defensive-minded frontcourt players.
The one thing this group of players is a sure-fire star to be the go-to player and focal point of the rebuild. If they reach their ceilings, the Blazers could already have that in someone like Henderson or Sharpe. However, the draft is an excellent route to finding that critical missing piece to help put them over the top when this core enters its prime.
Portland Trail Blazers draft picks from 2025 to 2030 (updated)
The Blazers went into the 2024 NBA Draft with four picks but only used one (No. 7 on Clingan). They traded their No. 14 selection (Bub Carrington), a 2029 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2030 second-round pick for Avdija. The Blazers also had draft picks No. 34 and No. 40. Still, they ended up trading out of the second round entirely for cash considerations and future second-round picks to recoup the selections lost in the Avdija deal.
Going forward, Portland now owns the following draft selections:
- 2025 first-round pick*
- 2025 second-round pick via Atlanta (protected 41-59)
- 2026 first-round pick*
- 2026 second-round pick via Memphis (protected 31-42)
- 2027 first-round pick*
- 2027 second-round pick via New York
- 2028 first-round pick*
- 2028 first-round pick swap via Milwaukee (Portland has the right to swap its 2028 first-round pick, protected for selections 15 to 30 if it has not conveyed a first-round pick to Chicago by 2027, for Milwaukee’s 2028 first-round pick)
- 2028 second-round pick via Golden State
- 2029 first-round pick via Milwaukee
- 2029 first-round pick via Boston
- 2029 second-round pick via Indiana or Washington (less favorable)
- 2030 first-round pick via Milwaukee (swap rights)
- 2030 first-round pick
- 2030 second-round pick via New York
*Portland owes a lottery-protected first-round pick to the Chicago Bulls, protected through 2028. Under the Stepien Rule, as long as that pick hasn’t been conveyed to Chicago, Portland can’t trade away any first-round picks that could belong to the Bulls (every first through 2028).
Given this list of future draft assets, the rebuild looks promising in Portland.
