3 Dynamic guards the Trail Blazers should target with the No. 14 pick

With wings and big men at the top of the draft, pick No. 14 should offer plenty of guard options.

3. Nikola Topic

After recently suffering a partially torn ACL, Nikola Topic's landing spot in the draft is up in the air. Topic could fall far in the draft because of the possibility of missing most, if not all, of his first season. It could be a similar situation to Michael Porter Jr.'s. Once a top-five prospect, Porter ultimately fell to the No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Topic is clearly very talented. He's one of the craftiest playmakers in this draft, and his scoring ability around the rim is solid. However, his three-point shooting and defense need quite a bit of work, which makes it seem like he wouldn't be a great fit with the Blazers. Topic is going to need the ball in his hands to be effective, and there might not be room for him in the point guard rotation by the time he's able to play.

While there aren't many sources that connect Topic to the Trail Blazers, it wouldn't be surprising if they decide to pivot on who they select with the No. 14 pick if Topic is indeed available. With one of the highest upsides in the draft, the Blazers may overlook his positional fit and select him if they view him as the best available prospect.
