Pick No. 30: Boston Celtics select Baylor Scheierman

The Boston Celtics only have so much room for improvement after winning their 18th NBA Finals in franchise history in only five games. The Celtics are also well-positioned to have another successful season next year, as they don't have many significant free agents to replace potentially. Xavier Tillman, Luke Kornet, and Svi Mykhailiuk are the most notable players. But if they lost all three, they'd still be considered the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference next season.

At pick No. 30, the Celtics will likely be interested in selecting an immediate impact prospect to help them win now in an attempt to defend their title. Enter Creighton's Baylor Scheierman, a 6-foot-7 guard who would provide additional floor spacing and playmaking for the Celtics. Scheierman averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 45/38/88 shooting splits as a senior, earning Third-team All-American honors. Scheierman's ability to contribute immediately will be intriguing in the late first round. He's a "glue guy" who can seamlessly blend into any team's offensive system.

Scheierman's positional size, offensive versatility, and collegiate experience would be ideal for a team like the Celtics, Denver Nuggets, or Minnesota Timberwolves, who all have championship aspirations next season.
