25. Philadelphia 76ers grab Baba Miller
Miller only played 15 games as a freshman after a suspension wiped out most of his season. There were flashes, but the Seminoles struggled, and fitting in on the fly was not easy. Miller averaged 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in just 17.3 minutes per game.
The 6’11 big man has a ton to prove in year two. Teams are interested mostly in his athletic ability and size at this stage. He has a 7’2 wingspan and has shown flashes. Can the big man handle the ball, make plays, knock down jumpers, and make an impact on both ends of the floor? Florida State will give him more opportunities, but Miller has to prove he can stand out.
The 76ers are a difficult team to project. They are dealing with the James Harden drama, but what impact does it have on Joel Embiid? If the reigning MVP stays in Philly, the Sixers could target an older more NBA-ready option with this pick. Embiid may ask out and all bets are off if he does. The 76ers could be facing a full-scale rebuild and be all-in on upside.
Baba Miller could go in the lottery or undrafted at this stage. The 6’11 big man has a ton to prove and it starts with getting more minutes. He is a developmental selection right now, but that could change with a stand out season.
