2. Detroit Pistons take Matas Buzelis

ESPN’s projections are down on the Pistons, but they have young talent at every position. They should be looking for the best player available, especially if they end up with the second overall pick. Can they find a fit next to Cade Cunningham that helps them get back into contention?

Buzelis is a 6’10 point forward who makes plays all over the floor. He can handle the ball, get buckets, and run the offense. The teenager is looking to prove he is a strong shooter with a versatile skill set during his lone season with the G League Ignite.

Many scouts have Matas Buzelis as the number one overall prospect in this draft because of his massive upside. He could be an elite creator at 6’10 with the ability to space the floor and guard multiple positions. Buzelis is not there yet, but the sky is truly the limit.

The Detroit Pistons need more top-end talent. If Buzelis reaches his ceiling he can help Cade Cunningham get open and be their go-to offensive weapon when the former number one overall pick is on the bench. Buzelis will be must must-watch this season. His slender frame leaves some defensive concerns, but his ability to create at 6’10 could be something special if he reaches his ceiling.
