Cam Reddish and Nassir Little would make for a formidable pair of young wings

Cam Reddish is on a similar trajectory as Nassir Little. Both players underwhelmed in their only collegiate seasons but were drafted on the promise they showed in high school and flashes within their one year in the NCAA.

Both players have shown steady improvements, but are still far from their finished products — or at least what is believed to be their final forms.

Reddish was supposed to be a Paul George-lite; a two-way star with the fluidity and grace on offense to score at all three levels. So far, he’s become a stellar outside shooter, but not much else on offense.

The Trail Blazers, though, would love to bring in the two skills he has already cultivated: deep shooting and strong perimeter defense.

The former Duke Blue Devil is currently stroking nearly 39 percent of his triples, on over four attempts per game. On the other end of the court, he uses his agility and length to wreak havoc on wing scorers and disrupt passing lanes.

Despite averaging just 26 minutes per game for his career, he also tallies 1.1 thieveries per outing.

What’s holding Reddish back from taking his leap into stardom has been his inability to create offense inside the arc consistently. Luckily, he won’t be expected to do that in Portland.

The Atlanta Hawks have plenty of depth at wing, but have myriad holes on their roster. They currently sit at 15-16, which seeds them at 10th, right on the edge of the play-in tournament.

Atlanta expected to build upon their Eastern Conference Finals appearance last season. So far, they’ve done the exact opposite and regressed.

If the Hawks continue to struggle and Reddish fails to find a way to score consistently from two, Atlanta may be willing to trade their young wing for immediate assistance. If so, the Trail Blazers should definitely submit their offer.
