2 dark-horse candidates for Trail Blazers to replace Neil Olshey as GM

Bobby Webster can bring some of that Toronto magic to the Portland Trail Blazers
It only takes one. I have to believe that statement is written somewhere in Masai Ujiri’s office, a man who rocked an entire country with a big gamble.
Ujiri bet all of his chips when he made the trade to bring Kawhi Leonard to his Toronto Raptors, a move he knew might only give him one year of the Klaw’s services. While Leonard did skip town right after his contract ended, he left the 6 the best possible parting gift — a Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Portland is in a similar place as where the Raptors were before they landed Kawhi. They’ve got a competitive core that has obviously run its course, but may be one major move away from true title contention.
Now that Olshey is gone, they need someone willing and able to go all-in and capitalize on what’s left of Damian Lillard‘s prime. And who better to do so than Ujiri’s right hand man, Bobby Webster?
Webster is currently Toronto’s young hotshot general manager, Ujiri’s first hire as president of basketball operations.
Portland desperately needs someone who can think outside of the box, is analytically driven and understands the way this game is going, and is willing to take a risk.
Webster checks all of those boxes.
All sources say that he’s also an amazing people person, the perfect type of person to come in and erase the bad vibes left by Olshey’s toxicity.
