The NBA has released the 2021 preseason schedule for all 30 teams. On October 4, fans of the Portland Trail Blazers will get to see Tony Snell, Ben McLemore, Cody Zeller, Greg Brown III (and whoever else might join the team between now and then) in Portland jerseys, as Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors travel to the Moda Center. The Blazers will wrap up preseason in San Francisco against the same Warriors team on October 15.
A week later, 2021 NBA All-Rookie team member Tyrese Haliburton and the Sacramento Kings will be in Portland.
And before the final preseason game at Golden State, they’ll take on Chris Paul, who recently signed a nice four-year contract with and the rest of the Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns on October 13. All of the preseason, as well as regular-season games, will be televised on their new television Partner Root Sports Northwest.
The regular-season schedule will be released at some point in the next week. If you were hoping the Blazers would play on Christmas Day, you are going to be disappointed. It has also been announced who will be playing on Christmas Day, and Portland will not be one of those teams.
It is worth noting…As reported back in June that, television play-by-play broadcaster Jordan Kent would not be returning to the team next season and the Blazers were in negotiations with Kevin Calabro to return, Calabro is in fact returning to the team the as announced Tuesday.
Calabro had resigned his position with the team before the 2020 Orlando bubble to as the team had at the time, “focus on his family.” Lamar Hurd will be returning as an analyst and Brooke Olzendam will resume her position.
