Portland Trail Blazers Free Agent #3 – James Ennis

The Blazers still lack true strong small forwards to back up Norman Powell for 2022. Though Lillard, McCollum and Powell will likely be the closing five for the Blazers, in certain matchups they will need to play other guys and have other options at the three.

In journeyman small forward James Ennis, there is a six-foot-six free agent who can shoot the three, get to the line and play strong defense.

With a big six-foot-eleven wingspan, Ennis can defend threes and fours. His strength around the rim combined with three-point accuracy of 39.4 percent from the corners, gives him a well-rounded game. He is still a free agent and could be a nice addition as a traditional backup forward.

Portland Trail Blazers Free Agent #4 – Justise Winslow

Similar to Ennis, Justise Winslow has got great positional size at six-foot-six with a six-foot-ten wingspan. Winslow, drafted by the Miami Heat out of the famous Duke program, had a great start to his NBA career before injury derailed things in his fifth season.

Though he never had the shooting efficiency he would have liked, Winslow still showed an ability to be the perfect complementary role player for the Heat.

By guarding the top wing threats with his strong 225-pound body, Winslow even played the point on the other end when their starting point guard was out with injury.

He seems to have seen the back of his injury issues after a lost season with the Grizzlies last year and could be the perfect backup three for the Blazers. A prove-it year on a cheap deal could be just what Winslow needs to get back into an NBA rotation.
