Pro – he has amazing touch around the rim

There are few offensive players at Kanter’s size who have his offensive touch and feel around the basket. Kanter is a throwback to the bigs of yesteryear, with his ability to post up and get himself easy buckets around the rim.

Because he is floor-bound, he uses his excellent footwork to use moves like spins, drop steps, and simple reverses on the other side of the rim.

Many post-players try and put in deep hooks or fadeaways, in-efficient shots in today’s basketball. Kanter tries to get all the way to the rim on almost every shot and then finishes strongly there at around 65 percent.

Because he can get such great position with his strength, he can seal off opponents and use up-fakes to get his opponents in the air and then finish easily.

There are very few bigs who take almost all their shots at the rim, and because of this ability, he can draw double teams and leave shooters open on the perimeter. This is one of Kanter’s best skills.
