Portland Trail Blazers head coaching candidate – Mike Brown

Mike Brown may be the answer for a Blazers team looking for rejuvenation on the defensive end of the floor. In the mid-2000s, Brown led some successful Cleveland Cavaliers teams that overachieved due largely to their ability to buy into Brown’s defensive system.

Many questioned Brown’s coaching abilities after Brown’s tenures with the Cavs and Los Angeles Lakers were defined by their sudden and abrupt endings.  Brown would accept a position as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors in 2016, where he has remained for the last five seasons, winning two championships and filling in remarkably as head coach for Steve Kerr when necessary.

It appears Brown is more than ready for another head coaching opportunity if the Blazers do decide to bring him in; expect Brown to focus on implementing a strong defensive scheme while also building strong relationships with his players.
