Buyout option #4 – Otto Porter

Otto Porter is the best forward available on the buyout market. Though he isn’t at the high-level role player status that got him paid a near-max deal by the Washington Wizards all the way back in 2016, he is a six-foot-eight wing who can shoot the three, pass, and play some defense.

Porter is still only 27-years-old, and though he has had injury issues, he is still a useful player if fit.

He is a career 40 percent shooter from three, while also averaging 1.1 steals a game over his career.

Porter can do it all from six-foot-eight, but the main question is his health. If he gets a full bill of health in his physical with the Orlando Magic after the Chicago Bulls trade is completed, he would be a no-brainer as a backup forward for the Blazers.

He may not have the lateral quickness that he did before, but Porter can play the four if he has lost a step. The Blazers lost size when they traded Trent and Hood, so having one more three and d player in Porter who can slot in at either forward spot would make sense.

Buyout guys can be signed now until the last day of the season.
