Trade #4 – George Hill for Hood

The Oklahoma City Thunder and mastermind General Manager Sam Presti, have managed to accumulate one of the greatest stashes of picks and assets in NBA History. They are currently sitting on 18 future first-round picks.

The Thunder blew things up officially in the 2020 Free Agency period, sending away any long-term pieces as they pressed the reset button and worked on their stash of assets.

This season, they have taken a step back in terms of wins and losses, but they still possess a few pieces to help NBA teams move forward.

In veteran point guard George Hill, they have a player who could help a contender now, and for the next few years.

Hill has always been one of the more efficient starting point guards in the league. As a 13-year NBA veteran, he is a do it all type of player though.

Hill can play off-ball as a spot-up shooter, or as a backup combo guard who can get to the rim, or set up his teammates.

He is one of the more experienced playoff players in the NBA, and shoots 38.4 percent from three for his regular-season career.

Hill has a similar contract to Hood, with a non-guarantee on the second year, so they could easily be swapped in this deal. Presti would want a second-round pick in return, but Hood is exactly the type of player he would want in a deal.

The Thunder currently have the league’s worst offense, and Presti and co could look to rehab Hood and then get an asset for him themselves down the line.

Hill is the perfect backup guard to help with the Blazers woes when Dame is off the court.
