Trail Blazers trades for Draymond Green – Moving Hood, Kanter, Collins, Trent

This trade is far more complex than the last two, but the Warriors would get a young guy in Gary Trent Jr and a 2024 first-round pick, while also dumping the salaries of Chriss and Mychal Mulder.

The Blazers would dump Zach Collins, and send Enes Kanter, who could be the backup big now that Chriss is injured, and then Hood would be matching salary.

Sadly, the Blazers giving away Collins as he is out with a long-term and potentially career-threatening injury, wouldn’t be the best look, but the NBA is a business. Collins may not be in the long-term plans of the Blazers now.

The Warriors could use the 2024 first-round pick to rebuild alongside Trent, and if Collins healed over the next year, then they could use the bird rights they inherited to re-sign them.

Also, because the Warriors sent out more salary than they took back, they could cut their massive luxury tax bill.

The Blazers would get the services of Green, and could cut Mulder and Chriss as well.

Green is the most important piece in this trade, and the Blazers would bring him in to fix their defense while also providing a brilliant passer who could set up the likes of Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Jones Jr.

Green is a great lob passer and is such a smart player on both ends. He can screen one guy and then get the ball back and send a pinpoint pass into the corner.

He would be the perfect addition to this Blazers team on both ends.

Though the Warriors likely won’t make any of these moves unless there are injuries, if things go south, Neil Olshey could make enquiries around Green and these types of deals.
