NBA Legend and TNT Analyst Charles Barkley has wagered $100,000 on the Portland Trail Blazers to make the NBA Finals.

NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley has been an avid supporter of the Portland Trail Blazers over the last few NBA seasons.

Though he was obviously incorrect, last season, King Charles predicted that the Blazers would beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs, and then go on to make the NBA Finals.

This time around, he shocked his NBA on TNT colleagues live on air, saying he will bet $100,000 on the Blazers to win the Western Conference title.

Barkley’s takes aren’t always met with enthusiasm around the league, as he can sometimes come across as being anti to certain fanbases or franchises. Before the Golden State Warriors run of three championships in five years, Barkley famously said that a jump-shooting team like the Warriors would never win an NBA title.

With their significantly upgraded roster and fitness across the squad, the Blazers have a better chance of winning the NBA Championship than they did when Barkley made his famous quote last season, but when you consider a lot of his wild takes, you still have to think that he makes storylines like this to grab headlines.

This won’t be the first wild take of the year for Barkley. With the season beginning in the last 24 hours, he is making headlines to begin it.

The Blazers will open their 2021 season on the 23rd of December, matching up with the Utah Jazz in a home game at the Moda Center.
