Stat #3 – Assists per game – 6.5
Though Dame will never be in the conversation for the game’s elite around passing, Dame, like in every area of his game, has worked on his passing every year and now has significant passing ability and a strong two-man game with established teammates like Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum. He can make high-level reads and get teammates open in both transition and the half-court.
His 6.5 assists per game are actually good enough for 41st all-time in NBA History as well. Last year’s 8.0 assists per game ranked him 5th overall in the 2020 season and was also a career-high.
Dame can move up the all-time leader board each season if he averages 7 assists or more, but his assist total is a credit to the hard work he puts into his game.
Stat #4 – Total career points – 14,887
Dame didn’t get drafted into the NBA until he was 21, so he doesn’t have the massive career points totals of guys like Kevin Durant and LeBron James. But considering he has only been in the league eight seasons, his career mark of 14,887 is impressive.
He already ranks in the top 150 to ever play the game. And, if he has another strong season this year – at 27-ish points per game, he will work his way into the top 100 all-time.
This mark is also second all-time in Blazers history, only behind Blazer great Clyde Drexler. Dame can pass Clyde with just two healthy seasons.
Dame is at the point in his career where he can quickly move up all-time leaderboards. The total points list is a deep one, but he can move near the top with just a few more strong seasons.
