NBA legend and Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony has brought back his iconic braids hairstyle from his rookie year in 2003.
NBA legend Carmelo Anthony is one of the most recognizable current players in the NBA. The Portland Trail Blazers forward also has one of the strongest followings in the NBA, even though he is in his career’s twilight.
He made a massive buzz on social media in the Blazers training camp where he was spotted rocking braids, throwing it all the way back to when he had braids in his Syracuse and Denver Nuggets days.
Melo has always been a trendsetter with the way he dresses. He famously wore his hoodie in summer workouts regardless of the heat, wearing his hood up even on the beach when he was with the Rockets in the 2018/19 season.
The Blazers official Twitter account shared the above photo and then a video of his teammate’s reactions where he showed off the new hair-style.
Melo has also recently said he would accept a role off the bench for the first time in his career, a significant step for him and the team. He famously said when he was on the Oklahoma City Thunder that he wouldn’t be sacrificing his role to be on the bench, but he has since realized that he is doing the best thing for the team.
Melo might not be a 25-point-per game superstar anymore, but he is still so relevant with his fashion choices.
