Onyeka Okongwu. 9. player. USC. 142. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Center

If the Knicks lack an offensive piece, then the Washington Wizards are missing a defensive piece. As the worst defensive team in the league this year, they should be looking to add rim protection right away. With power forward Davis Bertans breaking out in the 2019/20 season, the Wizards are best to add a rim-protecting center next to their Latvian shooter.

In Onyeka Okongwu, the Wizards could add the best rim protector in college basketball last season. Though he is slightly undersized at six-foot-nine, Okongwu is a bulky 245 pounds and has a seven-foot-one wingspan.

In terms of plus defensive big men, Okongwu may be the safest bet. Although he isn’t a great defender in space, he is a high effort guy who can move his feet well enough to recover if he gets beat off the dribble.

In many mocks, Okongwu is higher than nine, but I’m not sure how many teams will take a big in the top ten outside of the aforementioned Wiseman. Okongwu could be one of the best players in the draft, but it remains to be seen if teams want to invest a top ten pick in him.

66. Pick Analysis. Point Guard. 10. Scouting Report. Iowa State. Tyrese Haliburton . player

Though the Phoenix Suns have veteran point guard Chris Paul under contract for two more years, it’s logical to pair franchise cornerstone and potential superstar Devin Booker with a young point guard.

Booker showed in the NBA’s bubble that he could be the league’s best shooting guard. He just needs to be paired with players who accentuate his offensive game.

In Tyrese Haliburton, out of Iowa State, they could pick one of the draft’s best point guards. Behind Ball, Haliburton is the best playmaker and passer of this draft too.

At 20, he stands at six-foot-five with a six-foot-eight wingspan. He is a more traditional point guard who uses guile and smarts to beat his opponents. He isn’t an amazing athlete.

As a passer, he has elite vision and can deliver a multitude of different passes.

Though his small 175-pound frame may limit his interior scoring, he has NBA range as a shooter, and if he can put on significant weight, he may be able to improve as an interior scorer.

Haliburton is said to be a great teammate who works hard on defense and loves to get others involved. He is the perfect pick for the Suns at ten.
