You are probably wondering why I have plugged another point guard in for the New York Knicks. Hear me out. Out of Stanford, Tyrell Terry may be the best small shooter in this class and would give the Knicks the knockdown shooter that they don’t currently possess on the roster.
Terry is six-foot-two and just 174 pounds, but he has an advanced offensive and shooting game that makes him one of the more intriguing prospects in this year’s draft class.
He is an elite off-ball mover who has drawn comparisons to Steph Curry because of his relocation abilities. He is a great pull-up threat and shot 40 percent from three at Stanford last season.
Terry is a crafty finisher at the rim who has a varied package to get his shot off against all types of opponents. He plays bigger than his size on offense.
Defensively, he plays hard, but his 170-pound frame will struggle to defend any guard threats in the NBA.
With Rajon Rondo, Danny Green, and potentially Avery Bradley out of the mix for the Los Angeles Lakers in Free Agency, they need to add a guard who can helo this year or next with regular-season production.
18-year-old Jahmi-us Ramsey is a six-four guard out of Texas Tech who has a flame thrower jump shot and can pull up from anywhere on the court. In his one year in College Ramsey shot an impressive 42 percent from three.
Though he is only 18, Ramsey exhibits supreme confidence in his offensive abilities, but he needs to tidy up on the end of the ball. He does have plus wingspan, at six-foot-six but he needs to be engaged more on defense and really lock into improving his fundamentals on that end of the court.
