Even with no on-court action in the foreseeable future, the Portland Trail Blazers have a few roster deadlines to keep an eye out for in October. Unless they are pushed back, here are three dates to keep tabs on.

The Portland Trail Blazers’ official 2019-20 season came to a close a little over a month ago. Even so, particularly in what has been such odd timing for an NBA season, we immediately have scenarios to keep eyes for over the next few weeks.

In a normal calendar year, the 2020-21 campaign would have been set to tip-off, which means that teams would have been on the clock to finalize contract situations.

This season, Portland — owners of the NBA’s highest payroll this past season — will have plenty of pressing questions about how they will build their roster with these deadlines coming about.

There’s been some chatter about the potential of the league pushing these dates back. In theory, that does make sense. A team like the Los Angeles Lakers likely isn’t focusing on rookie-scale contracts, or how to round out a 2021-22 team in the middle of the NBA Finals. But, until that “Woj Bomb,” or Shams tweet becomes a reality, it’s wise to move accordingly.

With that in mind, here are three October deadlines to keep tabs on, as it relates to the Portland Trail Blazers.
