In a tribute to Kobe Bryant, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard teamed up with rapper Snoop Dogg to produce a song about the late Lakers legend.

Damian Lillard has been busy this year. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar had the best NBA regular season of his career, appeared on the cover of NBA2K21, and now has produced a song with Rapper Snoop Dogg.

Making his fifth All-Star game, he couldn’t play because of an injury, but was able to perform instead, hitting the stage with Lil Wayne on All-Star Saturday night.

During the NBA hiatus, he protested in his community for social justice, and then when the NBA returned, he led his team in the NBA bubble to the playoffs.

The Blazers, unfortunately, weren’t able to go any further than the first round, as Lillard had to go home with a knee injury after game four. But he was still able to take home the Bubble MVP, make the All-NBA second team, and finish eighth in regular-season MVP voting. He was also the first Blazer to hit the coveted 30-points per game scoring mark.

Lillard was able to proudly announce after his NBA season finished, that he and his fiancee were expecting twins. Dame did make the most of his time in the bubble though, turning his room into a recording studio where he could put together music for release.

As an NBA 2K21 cover athlete, he was in the unique position of being the cover athlete and producing music for the game.

He produced a song for 2K called ‘ Kobe, ‘a tribute to the late great Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, who tragically passed away with seven others in a helicopter accident on January 26. Snoop Dogg raps with Dame on this song also.

Blazers fans are blessed to have Dame as their franchise leader. On and off the court, he is a true leader.
