With the Portland Trail Blazers season now finished after their defeat at the hands the Lakers, it is time to look at ways the team can improve this offseason. And no event is more important to improving a team than the NBA Draft.

The Portland Trail Blazers sport the 16th and 46th picks in this year’s draft. This is the first year that Portland has had multiple draft picks since 2017, and if the 46th pick remains in their hands, will be their first second-round selection since 2013.

While they have had little recent experience in second-round selections, the Portland Trail Blazers are still capable of finding diamonds in the rough. Gary Trent Jr. was a second-round selection of Sacramento before being traded to Portland on draft night and up-and-coming undrafted big man Wenyen Gabriel was a shrewd acquisition in the Kent Bazemore trade.

This article will take a look at four possible selections for the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of this year’s NBA draft based on their team needs both positionally and skill-wise.
