Patrick Beverley and Paul George reignited their rivalry with Damian Lillard during and after the Portland Trail Blazers close loss to the LA Clippers.

Damian Lillard is no stranger to controversy. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar usually isn’t one to start things, but he never backs down from a fight.

This time, after the close loss to the LA Clippers, he responded to Patrick Beverley‘s trash talk on the bench, and Paul George‘s post-game comments.

When Dame missed two crucial free throws at the end of the game, Beverley yelled ” Dame time ” and proceeded to fall off his chair in laughter. An interesting reaction considering that Beverley didn’t play in the game at all.

Also, it was only a month ago that Beverley talked on JJ Redick’s podcast about how he had to change his game because of the way that Dame played. Weird, but we shouldn’t expect anything less from the fiery Beverley.

George got into it with Gary Trent Jr. during the game. The second-year Trent is no stranger to controversy himself, famously going head to head with Donovan Mitchell earlier this season. Trent has made a name for himself on both ends though, and he backed up his strong words by hitting six three-pointers.

Clearly irked by the young Trent talking smack to him, George responded to Trent on the court, saying, ” you talk too much. ”

After the game, players from both sides took shots at each other in post-game interviews, and then on social media.

This is what Dame had to say when asked about Beverley.

"Asking me about Pat Beverley, I sent him home before. PG got sent home by me last year. The reason they reacting like that is they know what I’ve done, it’s a sign of respect. If anything it should show you how much it hurt them to go through what I put them through."

George has been roasted on twitter after this game.  George didn’t even play at the end of this game, but he made a massive deal out of a regular-season result, which may have no bearing on either teams standing. Lillard sent both him and Beverley home from separate playoff series with two of the biggest shots in NBA history last season. George and Beverley need to wait until they play in meaningful games before they start winding Dame up.
