Yesterday’s Zoom meeting gave us an idea of how the Portland Trail Blazers starting lineup could look when the season resumes. How optimistic should we be about that?
At this point, the Portland Trail Blazers’ trip to Orlando could go a ton of different ways. Everything could go right, and we could be looking at a championship documentary. Everything could go wrong, and we could be going down the horror film or comedy route. But one thing we do know for sure: the previews for that “show” are officially airing.
Yesterday provided us with the first real idea of how the Blazers’ lineup could look when play resumes, in large part due to The Athletic’s Jason Quick providing some details from Portland’s Zoom conference.
And unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve probably heard about a bit of that hoopla.
Earlier suspicions were confirmed about the Blazers potentially turning the clock back to 2010, in more ways than once; head coach Terry Stotts is entertaining the idea of the two-big, Nurkic-Whiteside lineup. Carmelo Anthony could be lining up at the “3” primarily.
The last time that was the case, Kawhi Leonard was a Spur, the Blazers didn’t have a winning record and Isaiah Thomas was No. 5 in MVP voting.
In short, the details from that Zoom conference have taken us everywhere and nowhere, simultaneously.
Where it lacks on Blazers’ fans confidence, it more than makes up for in questions and takeaways. So, with that in mind, here are three unanswered thought-questions pertaining to yesterday’s bombshell of a day.
