CJ McCollum recently posted a photo of his new hairdo on Instagram. The Portland Trail Blazers vet is one of many NBA players sporting a new quarantine look.

CJ McCollum‘s new hairdo caught a few by surprise after he posted it to his Instagram on the 19th of May. The Portland Trail Blazers guard said his afro was out of hand in a before and after post of his new haircut.

His comments on Instagram are below, after having his ‘ fro ‘ shaped into some cornrows with a bun on top.

"Figured today was a good day to get my hair did. Been a rough quarantine. Looking like somebody auntie. #blackboyjoy"

McCollum is a light-hearted but intelligent guy. After the extended quarantine period amidst the backdrop of COVID-19 and the massive social uprising in the USA, his light-hearted post was a feel-good for a lot of people.

Over the last few months, we’ve seen many new looks from NBA players. Denver Nuggets franchise player Nikola Jokic dropped around 20 pounds and shocked the entire NBA community.

LeBron James shaved his head and then let the grey hair run wild in his beard. A bulked-up 250-pound Ben Simmons. Marc Gasol also lost significant weight and looked svelte in a gym photo.

Because of the extended postponement of the NBA season, this gap has felt like a proper offseason. New haircuts and slim bodies usually happen in the summer or offseason, but with almost four months between NBA games, players have had the chance to get into shape over the hiatus.

Luckily, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see these new looks on the court. For Blazers fans, they will get to see McCollum and his teammates on-court come the start of August. They have an eight-game run where if they can win enough games to go past the Memphis Grizzlies, they can make the post-season.
