It’s almost comical at times how much Anfernee Simons looks like Damian Lillard on a basketball court.

The quick release, the deep range, even that first step – Simons looks a carbon copy of Lillard at times. Damian Lillard is the perfect mentor for him, and Simons needs to do all he can to learn from the 5-time All-Star.

This video shows off Simons’ release and range very well. Simons is a guard (like Dame) who must build around his three-point shot, and drive enough to give himself space on the perimeter. Most of these buckets are in a catch-and-shoot situation, but Anfernee Simons showed vs. the Clippers that he can create his own shot as well.

Lillard is the ultimate comparison for Simons, and Blazer fans need to be excited about what Simons could turn in to. Lillard will mentor him terrifically, and teach him everything there is to know about being one of the best point guards in the game.
