3. Seth Curry Predicts the Future

April 23, 2019. A player other than Seth Curry may come to mind when reflecting on this day in Blazer history. Of course, any Portland fan has seen the Damian Lillard shot countless times. What some may have failed to notice is Curry’s speech to the Oklahoma City Thunder bench.

As Lillard came up the court and with the clock winding down, Curry positioned himself at the corner three, directly in front of the Thunder’s reserves. As all the other Blazers on court simply make way for Lillard, Curry takes the opportunity to give the Thunder some early departing words.

While we’re left wishing the younger Curry had been mic’d up at the time, it’s not hard to guess what was said based on body language. Well before the clock reaches triple zero, Curry had already let the Thunder know they may as well start packing their bags.

S.Dot may have only been a Blazer for a single season, but he backed Rip City with his heart and soul. While no one may ever know exactly what he said, the sheer audacity and confidence to tell a franchise their season is over deserves quite the recognition.
