LOS ANGELES, CA – MARCH 20: Andre Miller /

5. Andre “The Bullet” Miller

Although Andre Miller was only with the franchise for two years, he enjoyed a number of special moments, including his game winning inbound assist to Nicolas Batum back in 2011. Miller was the last starting point guard to experience success in Rip City prior to Damian Lillard’s arrival, and with reason.

Although he was already in his tenth season when joining Portland’s roster, Miller managed to create an immediate impact and serve as a team leader and facilitator. The veteran played with both finesse and ferocity, never backing down from anybody. This may have never been exhibited better than his incident with then Rookie of the Year Blake Griffin back in the 2010-11 season.

The game had not been particularly chippy or aggressive thus far. However, the youthful and perhaps immature Griffin felt the need to go after the smallest guy on the opposing team.

After the 6’9” power forward arguably crossed the line with some unnecessary shoves, Miller hit Griffin with the shove of all shoves, sending him well beyond the baseline. Miller somehow managed to get away with the retaliatory hit, receiving no call. Regardless, Griffin had received the message, abstaining from any foul play against Miller for the rest of the game.
