With the NBA on standby, players have time to study some game-film. Who should Portland Trail Blazers forward Nassir Little be watching to improve his game?

In his rookie season, Portland Trail Blazers forward Nassir Little has shown flashes of his potential, but has been inconsistent, and has shown obvious holes in his game.

For 20-years-old, this is not unusual, but with the NBA’s return still unknown, Little has all the time in the world to watch some game tape, and work on these flaws.

Both Little’s flaws and skills are extremely obvious, which isn’t a bad thing. One thing I love about the former UNC man is his defense and hustle; Little has an incredible motor and passion for the game, and never seems to stop hustling. His energy has been incredibly valuable off the bench at times this season, showing shades of Al-Farouq Aminu from his Blazer days.

Little’s athleticism is off the charts as well, and he uses this on both the offensive and defensive end. He’s a versatile defender, and can rebound the ball, block shots and contest extremely well.

While Little’s offensive game isn’t a lost cause, his jump-shot is clearly still raw, and will need to be developed. The forward shot just 23 percent from deep this season, but his jumper is fairly smooth, and he has had games where he’s knocked shots down.

It’s clear what Little needs to do to improve and push for starting spot, but who should he be watching?
