Bargain Free Agent #5 – Justin Holiday

Indiana Pacers swingman Justin Holiday is in career best form at age 31. He is probably looking for one last long-term deal in the NBA, meaning that the Blazers could be a great fit.

He earnt $4.6 million this year and could probably get a similar amount in a multi-year deal in Portland.

Holiday shot 42 percent from three this season, while also being in the top 20 in the league for steal and block rate among guards. Holiday is six-foot-six and has the type of versatile game that could help this Blazers bench unit.

Holiday isn’t a great play-maker, but he is a good secondary option. He is a strong defender, and with his massive seven-foot wingspan he can defend multiple positions.

For a bench player of Holiday’s status, a three-year, $20 million dollar deal would work nicely.

Bargain free agent #6 – Marvin Williams

Long-time Charlotte Hornet and current Milwaukee Buck Marvin Williams is one of the more experienced power forward’s who will be on the market next year.

A stout defender whose shooting has come on strongly over the last few years, Williams is a good small ball five or your normal stretch four. He is 33, but he has a few years left in him where he could help a contending team.

Williams has shot 36 plus percent from three for the last six years, while being an above average rim protector at six-foot-nine. He is a solid defensive rebounder and though he isn’t athletic anymore he has great defensive positioning.

WIlliams is also a good locker room presence. It would be nice if the Blazers had a stretch five option in-house. Bringing the defense away from the rim to make things easier for Dame would be a plus in both the regular and post season.

At 33, Williams would probably sign a two-year deal in the four – seven million range. A great signing for a team that is trying to contend.
