Jamal Crawford

‘ Sign J-Crossover ‘ has been a frequent catch phrase on social media in Rip City. Soon to be 40 years old, Jamal Crawford is a fan favourite regardless of which team people support.

He may not be able to contribute on the court for a playoff team anymore but as a positive locker room presence and heat up quick scorer he can still be of great value. His inefficient scoring combined with a lack of defense means his days of helping contenders may be gone. But if a team’s season is gone in terms of making the playoffs, and they want someone to come in and score then Crawford is your man.

His name is synonymous with exciting crossover’s, four point plays and buzzer beaters. Crawford is still good for production in the regular season and would get bums on seats in terms of attendance. As recently as the last night of last year,s regular season Crawford had 51 points on 60 percent shooting for the Phoenix Suns.

A three-time sixth man of the year winner, Crawford actually played one season for the Trail Blazers. Back in 2011/12 he led the league in free throw shooting while averaging 14 points a game in Rip City.

Crawford’s signing would be nothing more than a feel good story in town, but if the season goes any further south then it would be a great idea in terms of adding bench production and three-point shooting. Crawford is a well-known strong locker room presence also, and would be a good influence on the young guards on the roster.
