Jeff Green

We have previously touched on Jeff Green as a signing for this team, but now as its almost time for ten-day contracts to be signed, the Blazers are better to wait and sign Green to one of these instead of a rest of the season type deal.

Green is still good enough on both ends of the court to be on an NBA roster. The last two seasons he has been an above average addition on a team that went to the NBA finals, and then an injury hit Washington Wizards team.

Green is 33 but still has some athleticism. His ability to finish around the rim and draw fouls is a sought after quality when combined with his six-foot-nine frame. Green is a great locker room guy and could potentially be signed to a rest of season deal if a ten-day run went well.

Green is more of a do it all type these days. He has embraced his role player status after a career that promised a lot more didn’t pan out. Green, like both of the players mentioned above, has earned plenty of money in his career and is now just trying to stay in the league on veteran minimum deals.

His size combined with being a 39 percent shooter from the corners makes him an intriguing prospect for a lot of teams. It’s important to not look at his current season stats with the Utah Jazz, as he was playing out of position at the five a lot for them before being waived.

Green can help this Blazers team, bringing him in for a ten-day or two is a great idea.
