Two lifelong friends have the chance to rekindle their rivalry as LeBron James, and the Lakers, head to Portland to face-off with Carmelo Anthony and the Trail Blazers.

LeBron James is back, he’s healthy and he’s on top once again. James is performing at an MVP level and he may be on the best team of his career so far. This was expected from the King as he had his first offseason in eight years and was delivered Anthony Davis, who is most likely the best player he’s ever played with.

What was not expected, was the resurgence of Carmelo Anthony. Melo has been special so far in Portland and it’s one of the bigger stories in the NBA at the moment. He appears to fit great as a Trail Blazer and it has shown on a nightly basis for Melo.

He’s averaging seventeen points per outing which is nothing mind-blowing, but it’s the efficiency for Melo that’s so appalling. His shooting splits are as good as ever and if he can stay consistent then he’s for sure got some time left in the league.

This eruption of Melo has brought the Trail Blazers a much-needed spark only adding to this game. It’s all eyes in Portland tonight. It’s very exciting and should be entertaining.

Tonight’s game comes loaded with potential. The chance of a historic game that lives on forever in basketball history as two of the NBA’s greats battle it out for old times’ sake.

And yes, it’s likely that this game finishes with no story behind it, but let’s just fantasize for the time being.

Carmelo Anthony has been in a confident rhythm lately and he could showcase it tonight. This may seem ridiculous, but Melo and the King could both score in the thirties tonight which would bring so much energy and excitement to the game.

Although the Clippers and Bucks are playing tonight, this has got to be the best game of the evening. Who doesn’t want to tune in and see Carmelo Anthony against LeBron James?

Hopefully, this game can come with some classic isolations and as much I hate the stagnant offense as of late, I can understand it for this scenario. Carmelo on the block with James covering him is something everyone wants to see.

It needs to be a good game though, that’s crucial for the narrative of it all. Imagine a potential game-winner with the two matched up. That’s all you can ask for.

I highly recommend watching this game. You won’t regret it.
