3. Utah Jazz (4-3)

Record Last Week (2-2)

  • The Utah Jazz went 2-2 on the week but weren’t too impressive as they barely defeated the Suns and handled the Kawhi Leonard-less Clippers. The main concern on the week for the Jazz was when they allowed the Kings their first victory Friday night in Sacramento.

One thing for sure with this Jazz team is that Donovan Mitchell is ready and equipped to lead. He’s averaging nearly 26 points per night and has shot the ball with efficiency. Mitchell is completing 52 percent of his field goals while shooting right around 45 percent from beyond the arc. Mitchell has truly been incredible to start the year and don’t expect him to slow down.

Bojan Bogdanovic remained hot from deep as he shot 46 percent throughout the week while averaging around 20 points per outing.

The issue with this Utah team is that Mike Conley hasn’t been Mike Conley. He’s coming off a career year and seemed poised to be the co-leader of this team alongside Mitchell, but has been nowhere near his regular self. Conley got off to a brutal start and his week 2 performance was much better. He averaged 14 points per game while shooting 38 percent from the field.

This team is loaded with talent and has the pieces to be a special team this year, but Conley needs to find his groove. He is too special of a player to be playing at this level. Utah will have their hands full this week as they are set to take on the top two Eastern Conference teams.

This week’s upcoming schedule

  • Vs Philadelphia (Wed, Nov. 6)
  • Vs. Milwaukee (Fri, Nov. 8)
