Golden State Warriors: 5th Seed

The Golden State Warriors are being counted out for the first time in quite a while and its puzzling. A roster that contains Stephen Curry should never be expected to end up in the lottery at year’s end. Yes, Kevin Durant is gone and it’s understandable to have doubts with Klay Thompson missing most of this upcoming season, but this team still has playoff talent and if healthy come April could be lethal and should scare any opponent that dares to stand in their path.

The main focal point of the offense lies in number 30 once again and we should all be ecstatic about it. The return of the 2015-16 MVP Stephen Curry will make for quality television each night he takes the court. Curry is about to have the most important season of his career so far, as he has the worst supporting cast he’s had in years and he’s going to dominate. Nothing short of scoring champion and MVP should satisfy Curry as it’s time to put the world on notice: he’s here to stay.

D’Angelo Russell ending up in the Bay is going to be a very interesting story to see unfold. Can the Warriors really start two undersized point guards or will Russell end up the favorite for 6MOY? Russell made an enormous jump last year and seems hungry for more success. His aptitude to put points up is deadly and should make him a great addition to this run and gun Warriors team.

Draymond Green’s excitement has to be through the roof as his role on the Warriors is restored once again. When Kevin Durant went down in the playoffs Green excelled. He appeared to be the Green of old and that’s what we should expect this whole season.

A major addition to this Warriors crew is the young big man from Kentucky, Willie Cauley-Stein. He’s still very young and is an incredible fit for this Warriors team. He’s long, bouncy and rebounds well which is exactly the piece this club needed.

The Klay Thompson injury puts a damper on this Warriors season, but as long as he is 100 percent ready to go by April, this team will be deadly. This group of guys looks energized to play as the underdog. The pressure is off their backs and the hatred seems to have ventured south of the Bay down to Los Angeles. Watching this Warriors team Curry and company is about to very exciting and don’t be shocked if come June the Warriors put up their fourth banner in six years.
