Although the summer basketball news cycle may appear to be grinding to a halt, here’s 5 things for Portland Trail Blazers fans to continue following.

As the seemingly most hectic offseason in NBA history finally winds down, there’s not much more basketball for Portland Trail Blazers fans to look forward to until October when the NBA preseason starts back up. That being said, there will still be a lot of important events worth following going down behind the scenes.

With so many new parts to incorporate into the roster, there will be many kinks to work out before the season begins. The Blazers will also have to adapt to a life without being perennial underdogs, as other teams will be marking the days on their schedule when they get a chance to take out last year’s Western Conference Finals teams.

Many players on this current Blazers roster also have many individual obstacles to overcome. Players defying media narratives, recovering from injuries and proving they can still be a productive member of a contending team’s locker room are just a few of the plot lines that will shake out before the new year rolls around.

So with that in mind, Rip City Project takes a look at what you can expect to unfold before the offseason ends. Here are five bold, yet realistic predictions for the Portland Trail Blazers as they prepare to suit up for a potential championship run.
