Portland Trail Blazers: Ranking the 24 players brought in for workouts
Who were the best players that the Portland Trail Blazers brought in for draft workouts?
As you might have heard, the 2019 NBA Draft is just around 24 hours away. This draft class is one of the more confusing ones in recent memory, with not much star power and evaluations of many players ranging widely depending on evaluators’ opinions.
The Portland Trail Blazers are in one of those tough positions. Coming off of a largely successful season, optimism is high around Portland. But the team needs to make improvements.
With five players hitting free agency this offseason and the team low on cap space, the Blazers need to acquire cheap rotation talent. The issue is that this draft does not have too many players that are plug and play fits, and most of them who are “NBA ready” are realistically not on Portland’s draft board at the 25th pick.
Additionally, the team has reportedly tried to attach the pick to one of their expiring contracts in order to acquire a boost of talent, and according to unnamed sources, those teams did not bite. So it does seem like the Blazers might have to keep their pick after all.
Over the last few weeks, Portland’s scouting department has brought in 24 different players to the Trail Blazers Practice Facility in Tualatin. This collection of players could be taken all across the board.
Neil Olshey has a history of taking players that have worked out for the team previously. Knowing this, it is probably a good idea for fans to have an understanding of each of these players.
Below are the rankings of all of the prospects that visited the beautiful state of Oregon during this pre-draft process.
