KZ Okpala: Stanford, Forward

KZ Okpala is another young PAC-12 prospect who has the potential to become a solid NBA forward. While miscast as essentially Stanford’s primary scoring option, Okpala improved drastically as a three pointer shooter (especially on catch and shoot attempts), nailing 36.8% of his shots behind the arc this past season.

Additionally, his 6’9″ height makes him a perfect fit in the modern NBA. With Aminu as a free agent this summer and Moe Harkless’ contract up in 2020, the Blazers need wing depth in the near future. While Okpala is raw and needs to develop his feel for the game, Portland’s wonderful development staff can hopefully mold him into the perfect 3 and D forward that fans have been coveting for years. A more in depth profile on Okpala can be found here.
