The Oklahoma City Thunder desperately need to add more shooters to their roster. The Blazers were able to easily outshoot them every game.
In today’s NBA, shooting is essential. Many teams can deploy four or five players on the floor at a single time who can shoot from deep. The Thunder do not have any capable shooters outside of Paul George, Jerami Grant, and Terrance Ferguson.
That has hampered the effectiveness of guards Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder, who are at their best with other players spacing the floor to open up lanes to the basket.
Tyler Herro can be an elite three-point shooter at the next level. His three-point percentage of 35.5% does not jump off the page, but that is due to his shot selection and workload.
Herro was the second leading scorer for Kentucky this season. He was also relied on to be a distributor and defender.
He has unlimited range on his jumper, and his confidence is evident every time he shoots the ball. His free-throw percentage of 93.5% also demonstrates Herro’s pure shooting ability.
Herro’s athleticism helped him play quality perimeter defense at Kentucky, and he could develop into a valuable two-way shooting guard.
