The Brooklyn Nets will receive this pick from the Denver Nuggets as part of the Kenneth Faried trade.
Grant Williams is one of the best players in all of college basketball. He has been named the SEC player of the year in each of the past two seasons. Williams is averaging 18.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Despite his resume, Williams still comes with a few concerns. He will likely have to play minutes at center and is undersized at only 6′ 7″. Also, his game revolves around his dominance in the post and around the basket. It seems likely that his game will take a natural step back against the stronger competition in the NBA. He should still be a quality player, but he will likely not put up an 18 point average.
Defensively, Williams averages 1.5 blocks per game and he could become even more valuable if he continues to develop that aspect of his game.
The Nets could use another big man, and Williams could be effective coming off the bench for Jarrett Allen.
