2019 NBA Mock Draft 3.0
By Jakob Ashlin
The Brooklyn Nets will receive this pick from the Denver Nuggets as part of the Kenneth Faried trade.
The Nets could use a backup center to Jarrett Allen and Goga Bitadze is a solid value here. He has great defensive awareness and could be a good rim protector in the NBA due to his play recognition and natural instincts.
He has great touch around the basket and can knock down mid-range jumpers with ease. Ideally, he could develop into an Enes Kanter type on offense while being able to protect the rim on defense, but it is also possible that he could eventually develop three-point range.
Like Kanter and other big men who lack quickness and elite athleticism, Bitadze can be exploited on defense. He does not cover perimeter players particularly well, but he should make up for it with the rest of his well-rounded game.
Bitadze would give the Nets immediate depth and a different type of center compared to the more athletic Allen.
