It is hard to pinpoint a need for the Golden State Warriors, but outside of Klay Thompson, their only true shooting guard is Jacob Evans.
Luguentz Dort is projected by many to be a good defender and slasher due to his athleticism and motor. He plays with a lot of energy and packs a lot of muscle into his frame. His 6′ 8.5″ wingspan could help him defend multiple positions.
Dort’s offensive production at Arizona State has been concerning, to say the least. He is shooting only 39.7% from the field. The fact that Dort is attempting 5.1 threes per game despite only shooting 28.5% from deep is also deeply alarming.
Dort could develop into an energy player off the bench, but he will certainly need to develop as a shooter and maximize his strengths on the court before that happens. Ideally, Dort could defend at a high level and take pressure off of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
